George W. Smith III, CPA

George is the managing partner of the firm and is a graduate of Wayne State University. His specialties include corporate and individual tax matters with substantial experience in both tax audits and start-up enterprises. His responsibilities include consulting with business clientele in various management areas and tax planning. George writes a weekly tax article for The Detroit News and is a nationally syndicated tax columnist during the annual tax-filing season. He also writes the chapter on income taxes for the World Almanac and has published several books on income taxes. George does not perform well as a golfer.

Troy Lindsey, CPA

Troy is a partner in the firm and has over 25 years experience in serving a large variety of business clients. He specializes in closely held corporations and high-income individual income tax matters. He has substantial experience in small business consulting services. Troy joined us in 1980 upon relocating from Florida to Michigan. He is a graduate of Florida State University.

Jeffrey R. Jensen, CPA

Jeff is a partner of the firm and has over 16 years of accounting and tax experience. He serves our business clients in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, health care services, commercial and residential construction and wholesale distribution. He specializes in corporate and individual income tax matters as well as estate planning. Jeff joined our firm in 1986 and is a graduate of Western Michigan University.

Besides small business financial reporting his specialties include employee benefit plans, estate planning and tax exempt organizations. George is also active in serving Canadian businesses operating in the United States. George joined our firm in 1986 after working with the Lansing office of Ernst & Young. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Gail E. Waterman, EA

Gail has been with our firm for over 16 years. She came to us from Washington DC where she managed a large individual income tax service practice. Her responsibilities include the preparation and reporting of all our individual, trust and estate returns. Gail has substantial experience in estate and trust matters and works closely with tax attorneys and administration professionals in this capacity. Gail also works closely with numerous clients regarding year-end tax and retirement planning.

Joyce W. Miller, CPA

Joyce is a senior staff member of the firm and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Joyce specializes in working with clients on specialized financial reports and tax matters. Joyce's other responsibilities include assisting client personnel in a new start-up business with their accounting systems and providing hands-on guidance with their implementation. She also has substantial business experience working with a wide variety of clients in banking and other professional relationships.
